Will give an introductory talk about ‘The People of Kurma’
followed by a screening of: THE NIGHT OF COUNTING THE YEARS [105 min]
Restored film presented in association with Cineteca di Bologna and Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Foundation. Oscar contender, 1969 film, restored in 2007 by the Martin Scorsese World Cinema Foundation. “One of the most important Egyptian films ever made.” Egypt 1881: based on the true story of a cache of mummies that a clan had been robbing and selling the artefacts on the black market.
Proceeds will be donated to the Memnon Conservation Project of the Colossi and the funerary temple Amenhotep III at Luxor.
