The first season of the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company Live promises an exceptional series of plays broadcast to cinemas from London’s Garrick Theatre over the course of a year.
Reuniting the stars of his celebrated film of Cinderella, Kenneth Branagh directs Richard Madden and Lily James as Romeo and Juliet and Derek Jacobi as Mercutio, in Shakespeareʼs heartbreaking tale of forbidden love.
Richard Madden was previously in ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Birdsong’. Lily James starred in ‘Downton Abbey’ and most recently as Natasha in the BBC series ‘War and Peace’. Derek Jacobi has had such a broad career it is impossible to select just one or two of his stellar performances.
